How to add joy to your life

Here’s some good news for you today – life doesn’t have to be boring: you can experience real joy.

In his sermon to the first Christians, Peter quotes Psalm 110:1. He says, “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.’” He uses this Psalm to prove that David himself was aware that someone greater than him would fulfill God’s promises and establish an everlasting kingdom. Peter also interprets the psalm to envision a time when the Messiah – Jesus – would reign, while also waiting for the time when His enemies would be conquered. He’s emphasizing the theological truth that God’s kingdom is already but not yet. Jesus came but we have yet to experience the fulfillment of every promise made – and that’s where joy comes in.

We can live in joy knowing that Jesus will return and that all His promises are yes and amen. We can live in joy knowing that there is unity with God the Father through Jesus in purpose and power. We can live in joy knowing that our expectation for what God is going to do starts with adoration.

Because of the gift of Jesus, we can experience eternal purpose here and now and we can be confident that we were made for so much more. Without the presence of God life is boring because we don’t experience life as it should be.

Choose joy today. Choose Jesus.
