DIRECTOR OF STEWARDSHIP AND GENEROSITY

Vision/Purpose of this role:
The Director of Generosity and Stewardship is responsible for cultivating a culture of generosity within Stonecreek Church by overseeing all aspects of giving, stewardship education, and donor engagement. This role is both strategic and pastoral, combining a deep theological understanding of stewardship with practical implementation of systems that inspire generosity and fund the mission of the church.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Stewardship Education & Vision Casting
- Develop and implement a year-round strategy to teach biblical stewardship and generosity. Collaborate with pastoral staff, teaching team, Discipleship team, and Worship Experience Pastor; to integrate generosity themes into sermons, classes, and church-wide initiatives. Lead seasonal giving campaigns (e.g., annual generosity campaign, special giving Sundays, capital campaigns, etc.). Lead the movement of current donors through deeper levels of generosity with specific # and % movement within the various Keep, Grow, Reach categories.
- 2. Donor Engagement & Care
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors at all levels. Develop and implement systems for acknowledging and appreciating gifts. With pastoral team, provide personalized care and discipleship to major givers and potential major donors.
- 3. Giving Strategy & Reporting
- Oversee the development and tracking of giving metrics, trends, and goals. Partner with finance and communications teams to create regular financial updates and impact reports. Ensure transparent, accurate, and inspiring communication regarding the church’s financial health and vision.
- 4. Systems & Processes
- Evaluate and improve giving platforms, processes, and user experience. Train staff and volunteers on stewardship best practices. Ensure compliance with financial policies and ethical standards in all giving-related activities.
- 5. Database Integrity
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of current and future donor base.
Qualifications:
- A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry, business, nonprofit leadership, or related field (Master’s degree or seminary education a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in stewardship, fundraising, or donor development (church or nonprofit setting preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a pastoral heart.
- Ability to think strategically, work collaboratively, and lead through influence.
- Familiarity with giving platforms, donor management systems, and financial reporting tools.
