Vision/Purpose of this role:
The Next Steps Pastor/Director plays a vital role in helping people move from first-time visitors to fully engaged members of the Stonecreek Church community. This role interfaces with the Weekend Experience Pastor and is responsible for overseeing the assimilation, discipleship, and connection of attendees into discipleship environments, small groups, and serving teams. The Next Steps Pastor is responsible for developing and executing the strategies that help people take a next step beyond the weekend service and through Stonecreek’s Discipleship Pathway. This includes groups, volunteers, as well as other connecting ministries such as Local/Global Outreach and Benevolence/Care.

Job Responsibilities:
- For people at Stonecreek Church, provide leadership to the core strategies, systems and structure, and execution of the following:
- Next Steps:
- Lead the Next Steps process to help visitors integrate into the Stonecreek Church community.
- Oversee guest follow-up strategies (emails, calls, texts, meetings).
- Organize and facilitate Next Steps classes (e.g., Membership, Baptism, Discover Your Purpose).
- Work with the hospitality and greeter teams to create a welcoming first-time guest experience.
- Maintain records and data on guest engagement and participation.
- Serving: In alignment with Stonecreek Church’s leadership pipeline, develop the overarching serving structure that will allow ministry to be given to the local body. This includes helping people discover their spiritual gifts, and providing easy on ramps to serving in their area of giftedness.
- Help people discover their gifts and talents to serve within the church.
- Work with ministry leaders to connect volunteers with serving opportunities.
- Oversee volunteer onboarding and training for new team members.
- First Impressions: Oversee the environments, staff and teams that serve to welcome new guests ensuring that the guest services team provides remarkable customer service and are continuously improving follow-up methods to ensure that newcomers have the opportunity to get plugged in to Stonecreek Church.
- Discipleship/Groups: Lead the teams and drive the strategies that get people connected with one another in smaller groups.
- Partner with the Small Groups/Discipleship Pastor to help attendees join small groups.
- Develop pathways for spiritual growth, ensuring attendees know their next steps in faith.
- Coordinate with ministry leaders to connect people with mentorship and discipleship programs.
- Care/Benevolence: In partnership with the Group strategies, develop the systems that will help the body care for one another. This includes a centralized care response system and other support offerings.
- Local/Global Outreach: Champion Stonecreek Church’s Local and Global Outreach strategies.
- Champion the leadership development strategy for volunteers.
- Manage financial results to budget.
- As a member of the Leadership Team, provide input and take responsibility for high level initiatives within the church.
- Utilize church database/software (e.g., Planning Center) to track participation.
- Plan and execute special events for new members (i.e Connect Dinner), baptisms, and volunteer appreciation.
Skills & Competencies:
- Education: BA/BS degree required; Relevant master’s degree preferred.
- Strategic and effective leader with 5-10 years of relevant leadership experience.
- Exhibits a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ evidenced in personal relationships, commitment to the church, personal work ethic, compassion, and a heart for lost people.
- Exhibits excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

Hours Per Week: Full-time, Exempt Position, 40+ hours/week.
