Wake Parent Support
WE WANT TO PARTNER WITH YOU!
The Wake Team is so excited to serve you and your kids! We know that as parents, you want to know how this ministry is going to be stewarding your kids well. Below is all the information you will need to know about Wake, including details about our small group leaders, baptism, and discipleship. We are here to not only support your kids but also to help provide you with the right resources when the important questions come your way. We are so eager to see how God will move in your student’s lives.
DISCIPLESHIP AT WAKE
Here at Wake, we believe in being discipleship driven. What is Discipleship? Discipleship is when we know Jesus, follow Jesus, and we lead others to do the same. Discipleship is a necessary part of our walk with Jesus and a necessary part of growing to be more like Him. We know it is necessary because Jesus commanded us to make disciples in Matthew 28:19-20!
This shows itself in our ministry by our staff discipling our Wake Interns who then disciple our Core Team Leads. Our Core Team Leads go on to disciple the Core Team. The Core Team is a group of trusted students who then disciple the other students that attend Wake.
This all plays into a part of a bigger story that we call X-Multiply, with a churchwide goal of a culture of discipleship.
We believe that someone one step ahead in an area of their faith can help someone one step behind. This is how we rely on each other and grow together as a community of believers.

SMALL GROUP LEADERS
Our small group leaders are adults who have been vetted for both their theology and personal readiness. Every week they are responsible for leading discussion after the message and answering any questions students may have. They are dedicated to discipling students and helping them to better know and be in relationship with Jesus.
BAPTISM AT WAKE
As believers, after we surrender our lives to Jesus our next step of obedience to Christ is to get baptized! In the Great Commission, Jesus commands His disciples to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. It is an opportunity, not only to follow Jesus in obedience, but also to celebrate your testimony with other brothers and sisters in Christ.

TALKING TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT SEX
We will be having a series based around these topics in the spring semester. We feel like it’s important to equip our students with what God says instead of what the world says, because we know the world is already saying a lot! We believe the Lord will use this series in a powerful way! We've linked some of our favorite resources below to help guide you in those important conversations!
